i am studying architecture and was recently given this assignment to study the events of 1971 to understand and feel them, which would help me design a monument .didnt know about this incidence untill know and for the first time in my life i am ashamed to know that my people were responsible for this tragic event.sorry.

In 1971, all this mishap was done by the Pakistani PUNJABI MILITARY (all of them were punjabies) from Punjab; which are still usurping the rights of Balochistan, NWFP and Sindh Provinces.

Now when Bangladesh rifiles do mutiny, Sheikha don't give them flowers or dancing wellcome but kill them with bullets and bombs, you can discover these mass graves and upload these photos here, will be a good view of present day Bengal, bengal must be a free country and people must be free to choose their sides, not all are on Sheikha side.

The hard fact is that it was the Bengal who lead the Pakistan movement from begining from formation of Muslim League in 1906 in Bengal till resentation of Pakistan resolution in 1940 by Sher-e-Begal Maulvi Fazal e Haq. Even in 1947, it was only the second muslim majority state after Sindh being ruled by Muslim league.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason for Bengal crisis is that we Pakistanis allowed traitors of Islam (Congress and Unionist party leaders) to hijack Muslim League and then allowed military dictatorship to use people against each other.
Every one says Punjab is doing this and that. But the fact is that first Ruler from Punjab was Gen Zia ul Haq (he took office in 1977).
Well, in Pakistan there are other versions of story being told. The Genocide by Indian military of muslims both Bengali and West Pakistanis. But histiry belongs to the winner not to the facts.

Religion is a very personal matter, and a man/woman has the right to accept a religion or not to accept any religion. No true religion instructs human beings to KILL and torture or force fellow human beings, and if it does then that is no religion at all. Anybody (who ever he/she may be)instructs to exterminate/kill/torture a human being in the name of religion is an enemy to humanity.
ReplyDeleteThe war for independence of Bangladesh in 1971 scripted a new history where the people of Bangladesh fought and sacrificed their lives for their human rights against the distorted version of religion propagated cunningly by the then Pakistani leadership who got assistance from some Bengali collaborators who were equally insane and brainwashed in the name of a distorted version of religion.But sadly such people are still thriving in Bangladesh and smearing the brave glorious history of Bengalis with the filth of religion. Any attempt to rationalize the Pakistani atrocities in the name of Islamic fraternity is a wonderful way of belittling the most glorious chapter of Bangladesh history.

ReplyDeleteI was a 7 yr old Indian bengali kid at the time of the freedom struggle of Bangladesh. A song sung by R.D. Burman "Swapno Amar Hariye Geche..." came up that time. I was told RD created the song to describe the atrocities of Pakistani soldiers. I dunno if it is true and if anyone have heard that song. Though it is trivial compared to your country's sacrifice. is it worth inclusion in your War archive?
ReplyDeleteThere have been atrocities from both sides, Mukti Bahini had killed several thousand innocent civilians from West Pakistan who had no role in any crime and who did not participate in any atrocities. There were several thousand innocent men, women and children who were brutally killed by Bengalis before, during and after the war.
ReplyDeleteIn Pakistan, every single Pakistani had realized that Pakistan Army had done great injustice to the Pakistan. They have been counterproductive for the nation.
As a Pakistani muslim, I have strange feeling that we did not realized that, Bengalis and Pakistanis shared the same Allah, and Prophet (PBUH) Masjid, same Quran and perform Hajj in the same Kaaba but do not agree to accept each other.
Pakistani nation is first in the world to realize their errors and omissions with open heart and ready to accept and very critical of the all the unfortunate events that have unfolded in East Pakistan. Nowadays, almost every day, every single newspaper articles and every TV talk show are being referred about those brutal mistakes of the past. For my this claim that how brutally and bitterly we have been criticizing our own past please visit Pakistani newspapers and TV.
What was fact and what was not during and after 1971. Forget the past and start a to build a new world will never be out. Both have claims of atrocities and both have proofs but who will be the arbitrator. Those who lost their lives are not going to come back. As a Pakistani, I am sorry what happened and I apologized but are you prepared to say the same.
Both nations have suffered a lot. Allah has given a lot of pains to Pakistani nation for the crimes their "forced" leaders had committed and whole nation was taken to a dark alley.
Please forget and start living in respective countries and love each other as a part of Muslim Ummah. Remember, the great Pakistan independence movement was started from Dhaka and not from Lahore when in 1906 Mslim league was established by Nawab Salim Ullah of Bengal.
please stop debate including people of whole country. there are both good and bad human living in every country and every religion. a man who can raping, can killing innocent people, can stealing money, can robbering, can saying lies, can supporting one eye policy, can sex without marriage, can be possible massive war crimes by him. if a country's power is on the hand of a good and honest human then he or she uses the power for good purpose, justice and peace. but when a country's power is on the hand of a bad and dishonest human then he or she uses the power for bad purpose such as war crimes. a lot of people were victimed of war crimes and injustice worldwide and every human have the right of justice
ReplyDeleteIndependent researchers say around 300,000 (3 lacs) to 500,000 (5 lacs) died in 1971 Bangladesh war, then why common people in Bangladesh are misguided by their establishment and some from Inida that the numbers were around 3 millions? Independent researchers, R J Rummel for exammple, estimated that 150,000 non-Bengals were massacred by Awami League aligned militias, with a low estimate of 50,000 and a high estimate of 500,000. Why the common people in Bangladesh are being ignorant of this fact that Awami League aligned militia Mukti Bahini may have killed 500,000 (5 lacs) innocent non-Bengalis (Pakistanis) civilians? Indeed Pakistan army and some politicians of west Pakistan of that time made some serious mistakes and Pakistan should apologize to the people of Bangladesh for it but why common people in Bangladesh are not ashamed of the mass killings of innocent non Bangalis Pakistani civilians during the same war?
